Talk to usIs shockwave suitable for shoulder pain and calcification?
Shockwave may be an option for certain tendon conditions and known calcium deposits in the shoulder. We assess your symptoms and movement before recommending treatment. Neck pain is assessed separately.
Can I have my shoulder assessed in Gentofte?
Yes. At your initial consultation at Farvel Smerte, we discuss pain during lifting, dressing and sleep and assess your function. Treatment is included only if considered suitable.
What is a calcified shoulder?
A calcified shoulder is calcium deposits in a shoulder tendon that can cause pain when lifting and at night. For known calcium deposits, focused shockwave may be an option, but we always assess your symptoms and any imaging first.
Does shockwave help frozen shoulder?
Frozen shoulder is a different condition from tendon problems and is not routinely treated with shockwave. We assess your symptoms and advise on the right next step.
Do you treat neck pain with shockwave?
Neck pain is assessed separately and is not automatically treated with shockwave. We discuss your symptoms and advise on relevant treatment or further assessment.
