How we can help you

  • Assessment of heel pain, soreness with your first steps and Achilles tendon symptoms.
  • Assessment of whether focused shockwave is appropriate for your tendon symptoms or plantar fasciitis.
  • Guidance on daily activity and gradually returning to walking and running.
What does treatment feel like?

Treatment can be uncomfortable. We adjust the intensity as we go. Soreness, redness, swelling or bruising may occur afterwards. We discuss relevant risks and alternatives before treatment.

Talk to us
Can shockwave help heel pain?

Focused shockwave may be suitable for selected tendon conditions and plantar fasciitis. At Farvel Smerte in Gentofte, we begin by assessing your heel pain and whether treatment suits you.

What do you assess for Achilles tendon pain?

We discuss symptoms, walking, running and changes in activity. The examination helps us recommend individual care or further assessment.

What is plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is irritation of the tissue band under the foot and a common cause of heel pain, especially during the first steps in the morning. We assess your symptoms and whether focused shockwave or other guidance suits you.

Does shockwave treatment of the heel hurt?

Most people find the treatment uncomfortable but manageable, and the intensity is adjusted along the way. Short-term soreness afterwards is common. Let us know during the session so we can adjust.

How many treatments should I expect for heel pain?

The number varies from person to person and depends on your symptoms and your response. We set an individual plan with follow-up and do not promise a specific number or result.
